Apple and ruby chocolate Easter marble cake

Ingrediënten

  • For the cake:
    • 300 g flour
    • 200 g sugar
    • 2 sachets of vanilla-flavoured sugar (approx. 20 g)
    • 250 g butter, softened and cut into cubes
    • 5 eggs
    • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
    • 100 ml milk
    • 80 g dark chocolate
    • 1-2 Pink Lady apples
  • For the decoration:
    • 150 g ruby chocolate
    • Easter chocolate of your choice

Etape

Step 1/2 : For the cake:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar in a food processor. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Mix the flour and baking powder and add half to the mixture. Mix and pour in the milk. Mix again and add the rest of the flour.
  • Divide the mixture into 2 equal parts. It weighs a little over 1 kg, so split it into 2 parts weighing approximately 500g each.
  • Peel the Pink Lady apples and cut them into thin slices. Cut the slices in half. Stir them into half the mixture using a spatula. Melt the dark chocolate and mix it with the other half.
  • Butter a rectangular cake mould and alternate layers of apple and chocolate mixture. Start and finish with the apple mixture. Take a skewer or knife and swirl it around the mixture. Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

Step 2/2 : For the decoration:

  • Melt the ruby chocolate and pour it over the cake. Decorate with Easter chocolate. Leave to set in the fridge (for about an hour), then serve.
